Leverage or Leveraging? It’s really a choice.

By Steve On Under Author

Someone once told me, your either leveraging or being leveraged?

Call it whatever you wish, Cubical Jungle, comes to my mind as one I have used before.  Workin for the man… as it has been called.

Have you ever thought, can I start a home based business that will allow me to control my day, and design it how I want it to be, rather than have someone else tell me how it will be?

Have you given thought to why some people have a bunch of money, but are so busy they can't ever enjoy it?

Have you given thought to why some have all this time in the world but have no money?

You guessed it, many have one or the other, but very few have both, time and money freedom.

Yes, I said Past Due, and it was way Past Due for me, allow me to explain…

I often think driving down the road, from spending some time in someone's home or at a local Starbucks or ??, many people simply don't get "why" this business of  leveraged income is SO very important.

Friends,  if you have a family or a spouse, have you ever given thought to what your sudden passing would do to their lives?  See that is what happened to me my Dad, a minister, passed suddenly when I was 15….  You know everyone lives forever, right?

Well Dad, went into the hospital for a simple operation, and came out on life support, and never became conscious again, and passed away 2 and a half years later, in the arms of my mom.  I never saw my Dad in those final moments, I was working, he passed moments before I walked into the hospital room.

Working for someone else, cost me, the final moments, the final words, I could have had, with my Dad.

Our lives were turned upside down, my mom, had never worked a job, she took care of us, the family.  My Dad never purchased any life insurance.. And like many today, there was no savings to speak of that even would handle the funeral.

We were devastated, even the house we called home was not ours, the church owned it.

We had to move the family, myself, my mom my sisters, and move in with my grandmother, 2000 miles away, and arrainge to place my Dad in a assisted care facility, my mom tried to care for him, and the stress of finances, seeing her husband, and best friend, dying, was more than anyone should bear.  I walked in one day, she was standing over Dad, begging God to take them both, she couldn't do it any longer and we placed Dad in a nursing home, where he passed quickly.

In the eyes of tragedy, my mom had to watch her Husband, best friend, slowly die, and could not do or care for him as she would have liked, because she had to first, go to work and help support the family, as we all did.  Money would not have changed my Dads condition, but money would have certainly lessoned the stress and heartache, and Mom, could have given him the care while he was living, she wanted him to have, in the end be as comfortable as he could be, given the situation.

Choices were made because of our income situation, not because it was the right thing to do or what we wanted to do, that was compromised.

All of our future college plans were gone in an instant, we had to get a job and help mom, and she had to go to work for the first time in her life at 45 years of age.

Here is my point, what you leave behind, is just as important as what you provided while you were here, your passing, sudden or otherwise, should be the only thing your family is grieving.  Not dealing with the loss of you, the FEAR of an unknown future, being thrown out of your home, financial devastation, and off your dreams, gone in an instant, lives completely turned upside down.

Why, because you were the "DEAL", your income, everyone relied on, counted on to get them where the dreams led them.

Gone in an instant,  I wanted to follow my Dad's example and spend my life in the ministry, those dreams ended, when there was no money, and my mom, needed me to get a job to help support the expenses.

Is this what Dad would have wanted, to relinquish his responsibilities, simply because he was no longer, physically here….?

No, he just never created an income that would be there in the event HE wasn't, our dreams, our futures as his kids were ALL gambled on him living long enough to see us through to our Adult lives, but even if he had accomplished that, were does that leave his Bride, the love of his life…

It left Mom in FEAR, unchartered waters, starting over, fully supporting herself, again, not in my Dads plan, I know, but neither was his sudden passing.

As I share this story, even I am reminded [why] I do this business, no it's [not about the money], it's about [what the money does] for me, and my family…

Allows my wife and my kids to have a future that is secure, and gives me peace of mind in knowing that if something happens to me, yes they grieve (hopefully ;-0) ), however, their lives go on, and their dreams are still attainable, and very real.

Simply, because, I said [YES], 5 years, 4 months ago, to create a leveraged income, residually, on that day I chose to be a provider and secure my families future while I live and beyond my passing.

Yes, it was Past Due, I was 47, time to focus on someone other than me.

I love my friends, and my family, and I want this for all of you, just as much…

I took a chance, skeptical, having been to this dance before in network marketing, with a company that had been around 36 years, but I believe in the products and services.  Yes, it was a LEAP of faith, I was sure I would fail or it would just be another one of those things you get invited too, and never make a dime.

Guess what it wasn't, and today, I enjoy in excess of 6 figures annually, I did not tell you, my readers, this to impress you, but to impress upon you, that there are companies, that have real products and services that stand the test of time, that you can actually build a residual income that grow and gradually begin to provide Liberty, personal choice, to do what you want to do when you want to do, or even provide money for gifts to your church or your favorite charity, or whatever you decide to do.

Yes, it is about money, but not the way they make it sound, that money gives you choices, and enables you to help so many less fortunate, and in the end, will be there for those people that you live your life for, long after your gone, and they will know this one thing….

They meant enough to you, for you to care about their future, long after you are no longer here… that my friend is what they call a Legacy…

And it is eternal, they will never forget the sacrifices you made those nights driving down the road, to provide for them, because they were your life.

This message is about you, and your family and loved ones.  Yes you can, build an income that will be there long after you, and as such your family will know how much you loved them to think about what their future will be after your gone.

Please, leave your comments below about this post, I would love to hear from you..  Will you tell me how you feel?  Can I help you build the courage to take this so very important step…

Talk to me, below this post, I will respond, and I will read everyone of them, I promise.

Carpe Diem,

    Dear Steve.
    Wonderful story.
I am 38 yrs old, and I have been overcoming life for many years..
But in this last two years, I learned to love myself and now I am able to give my love all that more freely to thoes around me, and I know this is a gift for me and for thoes around me, a win win.
Four years ago I started teaching because i needed income, it was the best solution, for the time I had available and regards to how much I could earn. I am am now seeing the blessings coming forth, as a Teacher, as a Mother as a Friend. I am seeing the difference I am making, and can make. I am my own boss, adn I believe this year will see me finacially independent for the first time in many years. But in my search for happiness i have created it also and this is an enormous gift in my life.
I have dreams I want to accomplish, for myself and as an example for my children. and thoes around me.
I am poor, but my soul is rich.. and is ready to spread the wealth.
Thank you for sharing your story Steve, to help motivate us all into creating the lives we want and deserve to have.
    My Question,
How can you help me, to help myself???
    Kind regards
    Leslie.

Thanks so much for sharing and caring enough to give back Steve ! Like you and countless others who have lost their loved ones at an untimely manner, I chose the wrong path and went on a personal self destruction mode and one day awoke to the fact that "NO MATTER" what I did, God still Loved me and there was "Nothing I could do about it! So here I stand today with you and many others trying to change the future from being like the past ! Much luv & Respect and as always, Stay Blessed Forever, Trent  :-)

Wow!  Steve, it's always inspiring to hear your story, however I have never heard it in such great detail as this.  I am blessed to have such great leaders and people in my life such as you.  People often wonder why I am always talking about Pre-Paid Legal, and they just don't understand, that it has changed my life, not only financially, but spiritually, mentally and physically by being surrounded and taught by people who have paved the way…  How many people really get to hear your story?  And how many people really take time to think about the future of the others they may leave behind some day?  If I wasn't involved in PPL, I would have never read the book by Paul J Meyer, "Unlocking Your Legacy", in which inspired me to start a foundation for kids.  Far too many times, children quit or the parents have no choice than to pull their children out of sports, art, music, etc… simply because they can't afford it.  When in reality, it's these types of activities that promote discipline, responsibility, teamwork, and caring for others.  Thanks to PPL's residual income, we are literally changing the lives of these children by helping them to reach their goals and dreams through this foundation…  Your story inspires me to do more Steve, and I am blessed to have you as a friend!  Keep doing what you're doing, and I will see you at the top!
    In Success,
    Krystal

I totally agree. I'm a firm believer in learning from the past, living in the present, and preparing for the future; because to me,  life is a journey and trials and tribulations do occur. Having residual income can help to  navigate this journey by providing for our loved ones as well as for charity.

    Steve,
I agree. I've seen too many of these network marketing companies to believe anything any of them say.  They're a bunch of liars, as far as I can see.  They have no tangible proof, just what's on their websites and, really, can you trust that??  They can say anything they want to, so how do you believe them?  I would like to believe they want me to succeed, but I can't.  I'm a firm beliver in putting your money where your mouth is.  If it works as good as they say, show me the working system and I'll believe them.  Show me a website and I'll be skeptical from the start.
I'm glad you found your company, maybe someday I'll find mine.  It may not be today or tomorrow, but I keep looking.  I don't have hundreds or thousands of $$ to throw at a definite, possible, maybe.
    Good luck with your endevours!
    John

    Steve,
Thanks for sharing. My husband and I are one of the lucky ones who made the right choice the first time. For the past 23 years we have traveled the world, suppported our children's college education, and were able to have a parent home while our children were being raised. Now, we enjoy time with our granddaughter. It all began with me having a dream as a single parent to be an at home mom and still earn income. Then it became a way to subsidize our college fund, and now it's our retirement vehicle. My continued dream is to be a reminder to  others taht their dreams can come true through network marketing with the right supplier and right system of support. Good luck in your future endeavors!

    Hey Thank you Gloria,

Yes so many people allow their fears and skepticism to be used as an excuse to not step out in faith and try something.  Network Marketing at it's core allows people to get into a business with unlimited upside and very little risk or downside.  What other business can you get into for sometimes less than $100, many times less than $500 and make millions?

Skepticism is not wrong, I was skeptical, myself, however, I did not allow my ignorance or fear of the future to stop me from chasing the dream I had of time and money freedom.  I am sure glad I took the chance and step toward my dreams with a firm, Yes!, after over $500,000.00 in 5 plus years, it was well worth it, and it allowed my family to not be affected by this current economy, because we had a Plan B in place.

Is it worth the risk?, you bet, many spend $100 at the fair… and don't call the fair organizers liars, because they spent all their money and are going home broke.

It's the power of it, again… (shameless plug for my earlier blog post ;[-0))

    Carpe Diem, sieze the day.
    Thanks again Gloria for sharing.

Thank you James!!, and everyone else that has added their comments. I truly live, (to even though just as scared as you), too open that door, I go, so you will know it can be done. Even with someone like myself, that was never supposed to succeed.

The “significant others” the one’s that were not supposed to have success, like the one’s that seem to have natural success, those are the one’s I get up for, the “significant others”, the one’s that deserve to realize there dreams like everyone that ever has….

    Their dreams count too!
